Entries judged over the holiday period, with winner announced in
December 2007.
Rules:
The Bay to Baker Trail is a main corridor trail running from Little
Squalicum Beach on Bellingham Bay to the Mount Baker Ski Area. The
trail logo will be a recognized symbol placed along this trail. The
logo may be submitted in any type of art medium with a preference
for digital (i.e., jpegs, tiff, psd, gif format). The logo must be
instantly recognizable when reduced to a 4" X 4" signpost along the
trail. Any person or company, located in any country, may submit a
logo design. Whatcom County residents and companies are encouraged
to submit designs. There is no limit on the number of logo designs
submitted by any one person or company. Entries will be judged
"blindly", meaning judges will not know who submitted each entry.
Judging:
The panel of judges will be made up of representatives from: Mount
Baker Club, Whatcom Parks and Recreation Foundation, REI, Bellingham
Parks and Recreation Department, Whatcom Chapter-Backcountry
Horsemen of Washington, Whatcom County Parks and Recreation
Department, Whatcom Council of Governments, Two Whatcom County
Residents, and Two Professional Artists/Designers.
The judging panel will pick the winning logo design from the
submitted entries. The panel reserves the right to request
alterations to any logo design submitted. The panel will agree on a
winning entry which will be announced in December 2007. In the
event that the panel cannot agree on a winning logo design, the
panel reserves the right to solicit additional designs beyond the
dates of the contest.
Winning Entry:
The winning entry will receive an award depicting the winning design
along with special clothing items announcing the winning design. No
cash awards are part of this contest. All submissions become the
property of the City of Bellingham and Whatcom County, with no
financial or any other type of reimbursement provided for, or
implied to the winning artist(s) or company.
