Mount Baker Club Hosts Hike For Visiting Forest Ranger

The US Forest Service assigns rangers to the Alaska ferries during the summer months as an efficient and effective "traveling" office. Rangers present daily programs on Flora, Fauna, and Culture. They also provide information on camping and outdoor recreation along the ferry routes. Last Tuesday the MBC hosted a hike for the Ranger arriving on the Alaskan Ferry MV Malaspina. The ferries are only in Bellingham for the day so it is difficult for the Rangers to spend much time in, what is for them, their most distant port-of-call.
