In 1911, businessmen in Bellingham, Washington formed the Mt. Baker Club to promote tourism and recreational development in the Mount Baker region. The collection includes minute books, newsletters, scrapbooks, periodicals and books related to mountaineering in the Pacific Northwest, together with membership, financial and legal records, and photographs related to club activities from 1925 to present.

Mount Baker Club created its first team in 2000 in honor of the club's role in founding the Mount Baker Marathon, the forerunner of the Ski to Sea Race.
