Looking
to Kayak ?
Several members of the club have expressed an
interest in kayaking. |
 |
Before setting
up any day or overnight trips, the club needs to
know what equipment and experience is out there.
If you are interested, contact:
RichardCochinos@msn.com ; Phone (360)671-4502
Specifically,
1. Do you have
a kayak? If so, what kind? (sea kayak, white
water, sit on top).
2. Do you have any safety equipment for your
kayak? ie: whistle, compass, life vest,
pump, paddle float, tow rope.
3. What experience do you have? None, mostly
lakes or protected waters, open water
crossings, rough sea.
4. What can you do? wet exit, self rescue,
assisted rescue, roll, none of these. |

In
1947, Earl Cilley was 12 years old, and
television had not yet come to the great Pacific

Ski
to Sea Factoid
| In
1792 an English lieutenant by the name of Joseph
Baker sighted the mountain from the deck of
Captain George Vancouver’s sloop Discovery in
the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Captain Vancouver
named the mountain in Lt. Baker’s honor. |
